Reserve deputies are all volunteer, sworn law enforcement officers who are called upon to assist full-time patrol deputies at various times as needed. The majority of their time is spent with a full-time deputy on patrol, participating in the DUII Victims Panel, traffic enforcement, focused patrol assignments, and critical incident callouts to assist with crime scene security. Their mission is to supplement the full-time deputies as needed during emergencies or special operations. Each year, reserve deputies are also requested to provide security at a variety of special events, such as the Washington County K9 Trials, Tigard Festival of Balloons, Washington County Fair, and many others. These deputies sacrifice their time to help preserve and protect our communities, and they rely on the support of community donors to aid in their training and purchase of equipment which are not included in the organization's budget.
