Search & Rescue

For more than 50 years the Washington County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Explorer Post 877 have been providing services to the citizen of Washington County. This Search and Rescue team incorporates many skills and experiences to offer an amazing program to men and women age 14 to 21. Our dedicated team of volunteers is one of the oldest in the United States, and the primary ground search team for all agencies throughout the county.

As a Learning for Life program, Explorer Post 877 offers unique insight into the exciting career fields of Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services. The foundation regularly reviews requests to provide funding to help equip volunteer Search and Rescue personnel with proper equipment.

The Sheriff's Office Foundation also proudly provides yearly scholarships to the Post's new applicants to help cover the costs of personal equipment.

Please consider a tax-deductible donation to the Sheriff’s Office Foundation to support the Search and Rescue Program.

More information on how to join this exciting program can be found here.
